First Football Game

We went to our high school homecoming game in September. Rebecca had a great time, she got to meat to some of Mommy and Daddy's friends and had a great time watching the game and the band.

She LOVES to take Daddy's Hat!!!

Can you tell she was having a good time??

Can we say touch down??

We had to get a picture of the guys and the score board (final was 42 to 0; JCS won) especially since it now has a sign that says Class A State Champions above it!!!!

Sucking that thumb...it was WAY past her bedtime! But she was a little trouper the entire time, only got a little fussy once!

I just had to get a picture of the band (especially after being in it for so long), not to mention I went to Freed Hardeman with the current Band Director.

The Joy of New Toys

We got this little toy chair from a good friend from church who's little ones have out grown it. It is really cute, it plays music and has lights and different activities for her to learn and play with. This is how Rebecca gets into the chair.

Too Cute!!!

I sat her down for this one, I love the smile!
Can you tell she's having a good time? When she got up this morning and saw it and just started playing with it, just climbing on it, standing on it, and giggling the whole time.

Too Cute Not to Share

This is what she wore to church Sunday night, it was way too cute not to share with everyone.

Events of the Past Month

Over the past month Rebecca has really grown up a lot!  She no longer eats baby food, drinks from a bottle, or drinks formula.  She is now only eating table food and drinking whole milk from a sippy cup.  She has also started talking...well babbling...a lot more and has even taken a few steps on her own.  Her balance has gotten much better and can now walk only holding on with one hand and some times for about 4 to 5 steps without holding on to anything at all.  She can stand unaided for about 30 to 60 seconds at a time.  Some of the time she will even take a few steps on her own holding onto her cup or a toy what ever she has in her hand at the time.  It has been a lot of fun watching her learn new things.  Right now she knows that she can walk, but we think she gets a little scared because she'll take a step or two and then get a funny look on her face as if to say what's am I really doing this and thin will just sit/plop down (at least she's not falling over every time she starts to walk any more).  She is growing up FAST!!!  JD and I cannot believe that our little angle will be one in just about a month and a half.

Swimming During The Johnson Cousin Weekend

Over Labor Day weekend the Johnson cousins got together at Jeff and Dorah's house and just hung out, watched the Alabama game, ate, and swam.  Here are a few pictures of Becca swimming in and actually swimming pool for the second time.  She had even more fun this time than she did last time.  She wasn't feeling very well that day either, but by the look on her face and the way she splashed around and talked you would have never guessed it.  I had to take her to the doctor on Friday afternoon before we left for Jackson because she had been running a fever, coughing, and very very congested...luckily it was just a cold (her first one at that).  We all had a wonderful time, but JD and Becca both had colds and I ended up coming down with a REALLY, REALLY bad sinus infection for which I had to go to the doctor twice for.  Luckily we are all starting to feel back to normal and it has only taken a week.

I had to look away because she kept splashing and getting the salt water in my face and eyes (that didn't feel too good with the contacts).

Having Fun With Pops

We didn't turn it on, but we sat her on it and she seemed to have a good time.  Though I don't know who was having more fun Pops or Becca.

Swimming In the Backyard

This is the second time that we have used her little swimming pool and she had a wonderful time.  This time she even ended up going under water a couple of times and it didn't even seem to really bother her.  She really enjoyed splashing around, watching Buddy, just hanging out and she even tried to play with the hose a little too.  It was a lot of fun watching her!!!

Second Picnic

We took Becca and Buddy on a picnic and a little hike up at one of the state parks around here. Monte Sano. It is really pretty up there, they have lots of picnic tables and hiking trails through the woods all over the mountain. We had a great time. Before we went up there we stopped off at Baby's R Us and got a backpack carrier to put her in so that JD could carry her around on the hikes. There are quite a few hiking trails around here that we have been wanting to try out and the strollers we have are just not made to do stuff like that. I forgot to take a picture of JD carrying her though, it was really cute and she seemed to enjoy it. We took the travel system out on Memorial Day and took it on a trail up at Green Mountain and it did OK, but it was a little tough to push over the uneven ground, mulch, and tree stumps. She had a great time and we did too! We were ALL very tired after our afternoon out though.

Can you tell she was worn out???

A Very Determined Little Girl

She sure won't let anything stand in her way when she gets her mind set that she's going to get something. Not even a chair.

Clingman's Dome!!

On Friday of our trip to the Great Smokey Mountains we took a trip up to Clingman's Dome. Memi stayed down where she could sit and enjoy the view while Pops, Daddy, Mommy, and Becca made the half a mile, paved, hike up to the top. Daddy and Pops took turns pushing the stroller up and holding it back as we quickly made out trip back down again. It was about 75 degrees at the top and it was VERY clear that morning and we could see a long way. Here are some pictures of us at Clingman's Dome.

Here is Becca at the top of Clingman's Dome.

Here are all three of us at the top of the Dome.

Here's Pops and Becca at the top of the Dome.

Here is Memi and Becca after we made it back down to the parking lot level.

Here's Mommy, Becca, and Memi at the parking lot level.

We had a good time, after we left the Dome we decided to continue our drive through the mountains and go over into Cherokee where I found another mortar and pestle (this one is a marbled looking stone) and we just had to get Becca some moccasins too. Here she is showing them off.

We all sure do love the mountains!!! Overall I think Becca had a wonderful first vacation/Anderson family reunion. The first week in July entailed a lot of firsts for her, the first time she drank from a straw, the first time she went on vacation , the first time she stayed in a hotel, the first time she slept in a big bed, the first time she had/shared an ice cream cone, the first time she went to the mountains, the first time she went swimming, the first time she met her Anderson Family, and she was so good through everything but she sure was glad to get home and get back into her bed, Mommy and Daddy were too!
