Clingman's Dome!!

On Friday of our trip to the Great Smokey Mountains we took a trip up to Clingman's Dome. Memi stayed down where she could sit and enjoy the view while Pops, Daddy, Mommy, and Becca made the half a mile, paved, hike up to the top. Daddy and Pops took turns pushing the stroller up and holding it back as we quickly made out trip back down again. It was about 75 degrees at the top and it was VERY clear that morning and we could see a long way. Here are some pictures of us at Clingman's Dome.

We had a good time, after we left the Dome we decided to continue our drive through the mountains and go over into Cherokee where I found another mortar and pestle (this one is a marbled looking stone) and we just had to get Becca some moccasins too. Here she is showing them off.

We all sure do love the mountains!!! Overall I think Becca had a wonderful first vacation/Anderson family reunion. The first week in July entailed a lot of firsts for her, the first time she drank from a straw, the first time she went on vacation , the first time she stayed in a hotel, the first time she slept in a big bed, the first time she had/shared an ice cream cone, the first time she went to the mountains, the first time she went swimming, the first time she met her Anderson Family, and she was so good through everything but she sure was glad to get home and get back into her bed, Mommy and Daddy were too!

Becca's First Time in a BIG Pool!!!

If you have looked at our blog before you know that Becca has been in her little pool in our backyard before, but this was the first time that she has gotten in a BIG pool.

She doesn't look too sure yet, but she warmed up to it and had a great time!

Here with a little help from Daddy she figured out how to kick her legs and make the float go where she wanted it to go.

Here she and Mommy had to come say hello to Pops who was busy taking pictures of all of us in the pool.

Here she was having so much fun in the float that we decided to get her out of it so she could really get in the water and see what she did. In the next 2 pictures you can kind of see her kicking her legs and trying to go after her other cousins who were bigger and able to swim on their own.

We decided to leave before everyone else did so that Becca wouldn't get burned and she was starting to act like she was very sleepy. All in all she had a great time. Pops enjoyed watching her and then getting to wrap her up and get her warmed back up while Mommy and Daddy got dried off too!

First Ice Cream Cone

Well she's had ice cream before, but this is the first time that she ate it out of a cone, Pops was the closest one to her so he shared with Becca.
