Tate Farms Cotton Pickin Pumpkin Patch

On Friday before her birthday, Pops, Mimi and Mommy took Becca to Tate Farms. She had a blast going on a hay ride, playing with all the pumpkins, and riding in the pumpkin wagon. When we told her that we were getting ready to go so that we could go have lunch with Daddy and then go to the pumpkin patch she got all excited and beat us to the door!!

Can you tell she was ready to go???

This was the sign just as we got up to the booth to pay for our admission into the farm.

They also had many places around the farm set up for photos. This was taken just outside the gates.

This is one just out side of the pumpkin pavilion. I love this one, it's just really sweet!

She really had a great time playing in the hay during the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch so that we could pick out our pumpkins.

She REALLY enjoyed picking up handfuls of hay!

I guess she thought she could step up onto it.

We thought this one was pretty cool with the pumpkin patch and the mountains in the background.

In this one she was making faces at her Pops during the ride back.

She sure did love playing with the hay.

After you go out to pick your pumpkin they take you back where you can pick up a wagon to put your pumpkins in and take them to be weighed. We decided to see what she'd do if we put her in there with the pumpkins and she really enjoyed it and rode in it all the way back to the car. The guy who was weighing the pumpkins and taking our money looked at her and said, "Oh wait a min., we forgot one pumpkin." He then picked her up out of the wagon and put her up on the scale to see how much she weighs (24 and a half pounds; and almost 2 and a half feet tall).

She really liked this pumpkin!!!

She liked it so much that she thought that she'd hold it.

She had to hold on to as many pumpkins as she could. She's soooooo cute!!!

Before we took the hay ride we walked around the pumpkin pavilion looking at all the different pumpkins, and boy did our little pumpkin have fun looking at and feeling the different ones. They had so many different types of pumpkins and gourds all in piles and she had to go to each pile and look at and touch (and even try to pull one pile done on top of her). We all had a great time watching her just exploring the different colors, shapes, and textures too!

I think this one was about as big as she is.

They even had some animals that we could pet. They had rabbits, goats, a cow, and a little donkey too.

She wasn't too sure about the bunny at first, she did touch it for a couple of seconds though. Then she wanted to touch it's eyes and ears, so we decided to move on.

Can you tell she was having a fun time watching all the animals.

It was really cute when she started petting the animals on her own, though I did have to get her started. She wanted to touch the cow's ears and his eyes too.

We couldn't get into the pin with the donkey, so we just looked at it through the fence.

Tate Farms was lots of fun, and I think she will have even more fun when she's a little bigger. They have a cotton trailer that you can play in, corn cribs to play in, a play ground, a corn maze, and even a combine that has been gutted that you climb up into the back end of it and then slide down a spiral slide to get out. We did try going down one of the little slides, but she wasn't too sure about that (it was past time for a nap, and I think she went down it a little too fast and it scared her).

I think you can probably tell by the look on her face she was not too sure about this.

These are just a few pictures of some of the things around the farm to look at and do. I hope you enjoyed looking at all of these pictures, I know we had fun making them!

This and the next one were too cute not to share!

Maybe in a few years Becca can ride the corn train. She sure was intrigued as it passed us while we were walking to the hay ride.
